new books the library’s loan system. services will be available at Mill Brook Place and the library’s programs and events will take place there as well.

The construction currently taking place at Booth & Dimock is part of the renovation project on the building.

Work on the renovation project began last July. With a project budget of $1.7 million, the project entails eliminating the library’s water intrusion and making it align with code compliance regulations.

The scope of the project also calls for electrical and energy upgrades as well as improvements to the building’s technology infrastructure and operational efficiency.

It is anticipated that the renovation project will be completed by early summer of this year.

“A meeting with the library contractor has produced results,” Coventry Town Manager John Elsesser said. “The foundation is finally complete, the walls are going up and the elevator is available for installation. The library moved services to

Mill Brook Place to avoid driveway conflicts and internal work conflicts during a key phase of construction during the month of March.”

Once finished, Booth & Dimock Memorial Library Director Margaret Khan said the upgraded facilities will provide excellent services to library patrons.

“The project will conclude with some really fantastic upgrades that will benefit users,” Khan told the Chronicle on Feb. 16. “All of our library patrons will have better navigation and directional use of the library. [Patrons] will have an upgraded children’s room with a designated program area, a designated play area. We will have a designated teen center, with their own collection and their own program room as well. And then the upstairs for the adult section of the library will be rearranged with a new circulation desk that’s better accessible… It will just be more conducive to everybody’s needs I think.”
